Welcome. We’re changing things up a little and moving to more of a reader supported site. Some of our more in depth reviews and articles are going to be changing to a subscriber format going forward. This just means that some posts will be pay walled, but by no means all of them. We will introduce voluntary low cost one off and monthly payments as a way to support the full time writing.
We’re in the process of rewriting and moving archive posts across, and from then on we’ll start regular in depth reviews and deep dives of important bands and albums on a monthly basis. Check out the ‘Publications’ menu for the latest posts by category. We aim to have separate publications for mod revival, prog and classic rock, and jazz, the first of which, Away From The Numbers, is now live!
The Shop
The shop continues to evolve. Our core principal has always been a ‘shop with a difference’ – somewhere you’d find unusual or obscure items that we found unwanted and unloved. We want to rescue and liberate vinyl, which we have been doing since 1996! We price to sell and never knowingly overcharge. We also take pride in the vinyl, so give each and every one an ultrasonic clean and new inner/outer sleeves. We really are rescuing these records!
This principal continues today, but we are also actively looking to buy up collections and expand the shop to include some more familiar and, if not mainstream, titles that are not too obscure. The weird and wonderful will always be available in our shop though, and long may that continue.
Also, in keeping with our writing, the shop will focus on mod revival, progressive and classic rock, and jazz music. Vinyl, cassettes and soon CDs will be available.
Social Media
Our preferred social media is Mastodon, the federated social network not owned or controlled by anybody. We have a presence elsewhere too, mainly Bluesky. Follow us on either of these platforms for updates on the shop, odd finds, new items for sale, and general music and vinyl related banter.
Merch
We are also going to be soon expanding our Revival Tees range to include more designs. We’ve only really played around with this stuff in the past, but it feels a good time to start taking it a bit more seriously. Check back here or on social media for news on new products and timelines.
