Revival Records was set up in 1996 to digitise and restore old vinyl to digital music. Nowadays we have a slowly growing online shop, post and blog about music, review vinyl and other physical media, restore and sell vintage hifi equipment, and happily buy up unwanted records to rehouse them.
We have also resurrected our old vinyl to digital service.
Primarily, we are music lovers and we are just trying to earn a modest living from something we love….
About Discogs
There are a number of reasons why we hold our inventory on Discogs. Obviously, it is easier to have a shared platform to take care of orders and invoicing, but also with GDPR and other data retention laws, we felt we didn’t want to hold any data at all on any of you for any reason. That makes it all fairly unambiguous.
Postage costs are also flat rated on Discogs – for us that means the postage cost covers the following which we feel is excellent value for money.

About Our Philosophy
Philosophy is a grand word – but our ethos was born in 1996, at a time when records were dead. They were discarded, given to charity shops, sold for pennies at car boot sales. It was almost criminal and very sad to see the neglect! Our name came from trying to revive not only the physical media but the interest in vinyl full stop. We like to think we had a small part to play in the current day revival as we never, ever stopped going on about it!
Our digital conversion process was extremely successful and provided the backbone of the business, but we still wanted to rescue old vinyl and, importantly, get people to play and love them.
The same is true today, it is just harder. But that’s a good thing! We will still find interesting vinyl that has been forgotten about whether that’s on the high street or in somebody’s attic. We want to do two things – digitise and preserve anything that isn’t already done, and rehouse and revive the vinyl so it continues to provide happiness and entertainment.
We may not win any Nobel peace prizes, but an old record can spread joy and that has to be worth doing in today’s world.
